Summary Of Activities Of The Danish - Vietnamese Strategic Sector Cooperation On Tvet Phase 1

Launched in 2017, the project "Cooperation in Vietnam - Denmark vocational training" with the goal of strengthening cooperation between the authorities, vocational training schools and businesses in 2 areas: interior and graphic design; hereby solving the gap between the skills and capacity of graduates with the needs of businesses and the labor market in Vietnam. The project opens up many opportunities for vocational schools, businesses and workers in quality vocational training, creating more jobs for society.
After two years of implementation (from 2017-2019), Ho Chi Minh City Vocational College (Graphic Designing major) actively participated in the project's contents and achieved remarkable achievements:
1. Establishing Local Occupational Skills Council for graphic design;
2. Developing and adapting TVET curricula "Graphic design" in accordance with the needs of the labor market (piloting at class C16TKDH; with the number of 20 students);
3. Sending teachers, managers to participate in training courses, seminars in the field of "Graphic design" (domestic and foreign) to improve the capacity and qualifications of teachers and staff school managers;
4. Sending students for internship in enterprises (15 enterprises Denmark and Vietnam);
5. Strengthening the connection and cooperation between schools, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry and businesses through visiting and training at enterprises;
6. Participating in developing and compiling “white book” on vocational training for the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Activities within the framework of the project are of great significance in assisting Vietnam in implementing the “dual vocational education” system. There is a strong the decentralization and close collaboration between businesses and vocational schools for ensuring the training associated with labor market demand, employment and optimize the training effect. The project is fully aligned with the school's strategy, which can help the school meet the changing needs of the labor market and it is an advantage in the future.

Besides, in the framework of the official visit to the Kingdom of Denmark and attend the first P4G Conference to be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met with Queen Margrethe II of Denmark. Mr. Phuc met and discuss with Prime Minister of Denmark, Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen on October 20.
On this occasion, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc transferred the invitation of the Vietnamese leadership to soon welcome the Queen and the Royal family to visit Vietnam. Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to developing comprehensive friendship and cooperation with Denmark, an important partner of Vietnam in Northern Europe and in the EU.

The two sides exchanged views to continue developing cooperation and Strategic cooperation projects in the areas of responding to climate change, promoting and expanding cooperation on vocational training, health and sustainable agriculture, Food processing and green energy.
After the talks, the two Prime Ministers witnessed the signing ceremony of a number of cooperation agreements on Phase 2 of the strategic cooperation project between the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Ministry of Education of Denmark;

Currently, Denmark and Vietnam are actively working together and discussing the continuation of the second phase of the "TVET" project between the two countries. Ho Chi Minh City Vocational College is also considered to continue to participate in the second phase of the project.
