Occupational Safety and Health - OSH training

On December 26, 2018, a training course on "Improving Occupational Safety and Health" for Food Technology students and teachers was held at Ho Chi Minh City Vocational College, which is one activity of “Denmark - Vietnam TVET Cooperation” project.

Participants in the training course includes Ms. Hoang Thi Thu Suong - Vice Rector; Ms. Le Hoang Thanh Vy - Manager of Food Technology Faculty; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Xuan; Ms. Ngo Vu Quynh Anh; Ms. Phan Thi Bao Vy (teachers) and students of Food Technology Faculty.
The experts are from Embassy of Denmark including MSc. Nguyen Le Nhat Thanh, Branch of Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (VCCI); MSc. Vu Thanh Huyen, Center for Occupational Safety and Health Training - Department of Occupational Safety - Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; Ms. Tran Thi Ngoc Hieu - Fine Arts and Wood Processing Association of Ho Chi Minh City.
The purposes of OSH training is to implement activities in the project "Danish – Vietnamese Cooperation on TVET"; to train and instruct students and teachers of Food Technology Faculty about key contents of Occupational Safe Healthy. The training focused on the contents of the occupational safety and health system in Vietnam in general and the Food Technology Faculty in particular such as Definition of Occupational Safety and Health; The importance of Occupational Safety and Health; Rights and obligations of employees and employers; Risk assessment matrix method; System of legal documents on occupational safety and health; Labor Safety and Health Law (84/2015 / QH13 June 25, 2015); Solutions to prevent occupational safety and health risks; what is Erogonomics?, etc,.
In the course of training, experts provided real cases, discussion exercises for each individual and each group to present, then experts give their feedbacks and suggestions for each individual / group. The training ended successfully, the participants successfully completed the assigned tasks and group assignments. After the training, students and teachers of Food Technology Faculty have learned a lot of practical knowledge and experience related to Occupational Safety and Health from experts to apply for teaching, studying and working. With these successes, HCMC Vocational College should have the orientation to continuously implement the OSH training for other faculties in 2019.
